New Station

We finally moved into the new station, at the end of the Royal Terrace Pier, on June 5th.

For five and a half years the station was located in Portacabins in the Port of London Authority car park, and meant a fairly long run for the crew, in drysuits and lifejackets, in the event of a call. It was also inconvenient when carrying out maintenance and routine checks on the boats.

The new accomodation is only a few yards from where the lifeboats are moored, and has greatly reduced the time it takes to launch to an incident.
